NCAA Clearinghouse Web Page
The NCAA requires all students wishing to participate in college athletics at either the Division I or Division II levels to register for the clearinghouse. The NCAA Clearinghouse uses a variety of processes to insure that students meet all requirements in order to qualify for an athletic scholarship.
Although students do not need to register until their senior year, the Clearinghouse process actually begins as soon as a student enters high school. Grades received during the freshman year are equally as important as grades received as a senior. Registering for the clearinghouse is not required for students participating in Division III athletics.
Dr. Steve Johnson is the NCAA Clearinghouse representative for Middletown High School. All parents and student-athletes who entertain the idea of playing college sports are encouraged to meet with Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson’s role in the clearinghouse process is to make sure that families understand what is required, and he handles all correspondence with the NCAA. Each year, NCAA Clearinghouse regulations change, and Dr. Johnson insures that Middletown High School students and families know the most updated information and requirements.
Parent and student-athletes are encouraged to visit the NCAA Clearinghouse website.
